| Fair skin sells in India's market place |
In a washington post article, the author tries to explain the reason for the entry of foreign faces (Caucasian ) into the Indian advertisingf media , be it print or TV.
Here are some intereresting excerpts from the article,
The presence of Caucasian models in Indian advertisements has grown in the past three years, industry analysts say. The trend reflects deep cultural preferences for fair skin in this predominantly brown-skinned nation of more than 1 billion people.
"Indians have a longing for that pure, beautiful white skin. It is too deep-rooted in our psyche," said Enakshi Chakraborty, who heads Eskimo India, a modeling agency that brings East European models here.
Is the above statement true? i am not sure!
Advertisers say that white female models appeal to them because they are typically less inhibited than their Indian counterparts when it comes to showing skin and posing in lingerie.
"So many international brands are entering India, and they use white models to emphasize their foreignness. To compete, Indian companies also want to feature white faces," said Rohit Chawla, a fashion photographer and advertising filmmaker who has worked with white models. "The perception is, if you put a white face to your product, it is a quicker route to sales."
Lokesh Mishra, general manager of marketing at Woodland Worldwide says, "And we are also playing on the typical Indian mind-set that thinks if the white people are wearing our brand, then it must be good."
Not to mention our "Superstar" appearing as caucasian in "Sivaji", "oru koodai sunlight" song.
Am not at all opposing this trend, but, just wanted to share what the media people think about Indian mindset.

| Malaysia's hostility towards Indians |
Its been well understood by malaysian Indians that Malaysian govt is against Indians in Malaysia.
Malaysian govt is doing a sort of ethnic cleansing to force Indians out of Malaysia and is discriminating against Indians at all levels.
Evidence of this fact can be seen in these YouTube videos, here.
More shocking information is that the private sector in Malaysia has also started to discriminate against Indians.

So, i made a research to check whether the job ad is true.
I searched the JobStreet site, but they replaced the ad with this new one fearing an outrage.
